Game Recap

Once again the short handed Cougars put up an amazing fight in their Tri Co league opener vs Columbia (White Salmon). The young Seton Cougars opened the scoring in the first 5 minutes when Freshman Sean Larkin delivered a perfect pass to Seth Moore who put the finishing touches with a well placed shot into the back of the net giving the Cougars a 1-0 lead. Columbia answered a few minutes later when a Bruin player was fouled in the penalty box resulting a a penalty kick and goal. The first half ended in a 1-1 tie.

The second half was incredibly physical and included a thirty minute lightning delay! Columbia went up 2-1 when an unmarked player at the top of the box found the back of the net. The Cougars didn’t back down though. Even after a controversial red card left Seton a man down on the field they never stopped fighting. The Cougars just missed tying the game up in the last minute when Sean Larkins beat his defender and the goalie but his shot was just wide of the net.

The Cougars will face King’s Way in a rivalry match up Thursday 6pm at Kings Way.
