Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Volleyball · Seton Volleyball Drops a Tough One in Five Sets vs Montesano

One of the toughest things for a young team to lean is how to win against a top notch program. Montesano came into Seton Thursday night as a historical powerhouse from the Evergreen League up north. The Seton Girls, starting a freshman, three sophomores and a senior were up to the challenge!

The Seton Girls, putting together some amazing passing, defense, and overall teamwork took the first two sets from Montesano and looked poised to sweep the match and take their first win of the season. But nothing comes easy in varsity athletics and beating a team that isn’t used to losing is always tough.

The Cougs battled tough but Montesano took the third and 4th sets.

Going into the 5th set the girls  tried to take back the momentum they’d lost but the more experienced Bulldogs from Montesano built on what they’d established in the 3rd and 4th sets and they managed to closeout the game in a comfortable fashion.

The Cougs head to Longview this weekend to participate in the Mark Morris Monarch Challenge Tourney. After that it’s onto League play where they will Travel to White Salmon on Tuesday to face Columbia High School and then host Castle Rock on Thursday night here at Seton.

Go Cougs!
