Coed Varsity Cross Country · Seton Cross Country Sending 3 Athletes to State!

It was a beautiful morning at Lewis River Golf Course for the District 4 Cross Country Championships! The morning started out cool and foggy and cleared to a blue skied crisp day. Perfect conditions for the District 4 1A Championships.

Those conditions translated into a fast field and once again Seton Freshman Sydnee Dyer not only recorded another school record but set the District 4 1A record with a winning time of 18:55 taking home first place in the 1A championships! Dyer’s time would have placed her in either 1st or 2nd in any big school category of Cross Country Championships demonstrating that Dyer is not just small school fast, she’s just flat out fast!

The entire Seton Girls Cross Country Team performed well with all of our girls finishing in the top 40 and as a team finishing 4th!

  • 1st -Sydnee Dyer
  • 22nd- Alexandra Traffalis
  • 26th- Elena Carrion
  • 27th- Emma Watkins
  • 33rd- Sydney Clark
  • 35th- Madision Beauchamp
  • 40th – Katelyn Junker

On the boys side Carrion continued to show that the Carrion family is fast too! Sophomore David Carrion finished 3rd in the boys 1A Championships with a blazing time of 16:56 qualifying for the State Championships for the 2nd year in a row. Freshman Koen Ross qualified for state in his first year of high school competition with a time of 17:49 finishing 16th out of all district 4 1A runners. The boys team also performed well and finished 4th as a team.

  • 24th- Niklas Boehm
  • 32nd- Josh Freitag
  • 43rd- Hayden Miller
  • 51st- Bradyn Carulli

Congrats to all of our runners on a great season and continuing the tradition of Seton Catholic’s presence in the top tier of distance runners. Dyer, Carrion, and Ross will all three try to build on this performance as they head to Sun Willow’s Golf Course in Pasco Washington for the State Championships on Saturday November 4th.

Best of luck to all three!
