Cougars News · Seton JV Girls Get Back to Back Wins! Varsity Drops Close One At Home to Castle Rock

The Seton Catholic Girls JV Basketball Team notched it’s 2nd straight win with wins over Stevenson and Castle Rock respectively. Seton was coming off of a win against Stevenson on Tuesday 40-33 giving the Cougs confidence for their home stand against Castle Rock.

Playing in front of their home crowd the JV girls led from wire to wire as they posted their second straight win tonight. The JV girls were led by Sophomore Guard Katelynn Willis’s 14 points. Amira Arguello added 11 points and Sophomore Tui Chetekwe added 11 points in the home victory 45-19! The JV Girls will take on Battle Ground Saturday at Seton!

The Varsity Girls played a knock down drag out game against Castle Rock tonight falling just short 53-48 to the Rockets.

The Cougs led at the end of the 1st quarter 16-5 and looked as though they might run away with it. Castle Rock had an 18 point 2nd quarter and the half ended with the Cougars leading by 3 at halftime 26-23. In the second half the Rockets’ star point guard Nykahla Ehrhorn had 25 of her league high 38 points as the Rockets took the lead in the fourth quarter and never gave it back. The Cougars sent the rockets to the line 34 times accounting for 22 points. The Cougars stumbled at the finish and the game ended with a 48-53 defeat. Jasmine Morgan led our girls with 16 points, Freshman guard Madi Manari chipped in 10 points and Haley Vick added 8 points.

The Cougs will host Tenino on Saturday 7pm!
