Two weeks in a row Seton Catholic wrestling has broken monumental barriers as they qualified 3 of their top wrestlers for the 2018 High School state Championships. The tournament is to take place this coming Saturday in the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Wa. Freshman Elijah Volk and junior Maritza Chavez-Anguiano both brought home first place Medals with two hard fought victories during their region 4 1A final matches. Along with that, Amanda Fry finished 3rd place landing her a spot in this weekends high school state wrestling tournament. As the season grows closer to completion no one would have ever imagined such a successful finish other than coach Damon McPherson who explained, “We are not focused on how young our team is nor are we thinking that our program is in it’s infant stages, all we are doing is practicing the McPherson 5 P’s which was created by my father coach Mac, and it is Proper Preperation Promotes Prime Performance. When the works been done the rest is easy.” Seton Catholic and the whole Cougar community is looking forward to one more week of ground breaking achievments as Elijah, Maritza and Amanda head up North to Tacoma, Wa. To compete against the best high school wrestlers the state of Washington has to offer.
Good Luck and Go Cougs!!!!
