Cougars News · Seton Girls Track Take First At Kalama Invite! Multiple School Records Set!



The Kalama Invite is known as one of the most competitive track invitationals in the area. The Seton Catholic Girls Track team served notice that they’re one of the most competitive track teams in the area as they set multiple school records while bringing home the first place trophy!

Sydnee Dyer continued to show why she’s one of the top runners in the state at any level by posting a school record and personal record of 11:40 in the Womens 3200 Meters. Elena Carrion is coming into form with a personal record and school record 51.39 in the Womens 300 m Hurdles and a fourth place finish. Michaela Ephraim finished first in the Womens Long Jump with a distance of 15-02.25 and a personal record! Ephraim also joined Tui Chtiekwe, Jasmine Morgan, and Emma Watkins to win the Womens 4x100m relay with a time of 53.66!

The Girls weren’t finished winning relays as Emma Watkins, Jasmine Morgan, Grace Hopkins, and Elena Carrion took the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:53. 18! Kiya Gere, Riley McDonough, Katelyn Junker, and Elena Carrion made it a sweep of the relays for Seton by winning the 4×400 relay with a time of 4:20.75! Kiya Gere also finished 2nd in the Womens 400m with a personal record of 1:04.66! Katelyn Junker finished 5th in the 400m with a time of 1:07.03! Ellie Saunders took 2nd in the Womens High Jump with a height of 5.00.25!

Not to be outdone by his sister Elena, David Carrion posted a personal record, and school record in the 3200m with a time of 10:21.14 taking 1st in the event! The boys 4×100 relay team of Taj Muhammad, Micael Silveira, Tyvauntae Deloney, and Myles McGovern set a school record of 45.91 and a 6th place finish! Taj Muhammad came close to beating his own school record in the 200m with a time of 23.67 and a 4th place finish. Hayden Miller set a personal record and finished 4th in the Mens 800m with a time of 2:10.25.

The 1st place finish by the girls team is the first ever team win at a large invite by a Seton Catholic Track Team! Coach Pyatt said: ” The Seton Athletes competed very hard and didn’t back down from competition. This is big for Seton, our first win at a big invite!”
