Cougars News · Carrion Sets Personal Record In Tri Co League Opener at Vancouver Lake


David Carrion has taken up where he left off at the end of track season as he continues to become a stronger runner each time out. Carrion took first in the first league meet of the season besting his closest opponent by over 1 minute at Vancouver Lake Park. Seton placed five runners in the top 20 out of 60 total competitors. Carrion was 1st with a time of 16:54. Koen Ross came in at 4th with a time of 18:50. Josh Frietag wasn’t far behind finishing 7th with a time of 19:17. Hayden Miller took 17th with a time of 20:10 and Paulo Vidales rounded out the top 20 with a time of 20:21. The Cougar boys took 2nd overall in the team standings.

On the girls side Freshman Lara Carrion was following in her older brother’s footsteps as she posted a 2nd place finish only 11 seconds off the pace with a time of 20:18. Sydnee Dyer continued to get back to her district leading form of last year with a 4th place finishing time of 21:34. Abigail Wall placed 8th at 22:20. Alexandra Traffalis was 10th at 23:21. Jerrica Pachl in her first year of Cross Country took 12th at 24:06 and Katelyn Junker was 15th at 24:58.

The Cougs look to be contenders in both the boys and girls Cross Country standings for district 4 this year! This week the Cougs will travel to Hillsboro’s Meriweather Golf Club for the Meriweather invite where they’ll be going up against several larger Oregon schools.
