April Nominees:

Girls:

Becca Palmer, Senior – Newberg High School – Golf

Becca is a senior at NHS and is highly involved in many different programs and organizations at the school.  Becca is a key figure on our golf team and is our lone senior player. She demonstrates high levels of character and leadership for our group.  

Becca has an outstanding academic record.  She is the definition of what a student/-athlete should be; the student comes before the athlete and Becca understands that completely.  She is an excellent role model for others, demonstrating that you can have high academic achievement and still be involved in everything that NHS has to offer.

Emily Churchill, Senior – Aloha High School – Softball

Emily is an outstanding player (she was all-state as a junior)

Emily is a leader by example.  She is thoughtful, respectful and has great attitude.  She is a member of our Student Athlete Leadership Team.

Maddie Sticka, Junior – Lake Oswego High School – Softball

Maddie is leading her team in 5 major statistical categories.   In 10 games played she has 12 hits team high, has highest batting average .444., highest runs scored 13, .741 slg %, team leading 10 walks, OPS 1.335.

Maddie plays with focus and intelligence and understands the game at a very high level.  She is a very instinctual player who has great range and a strong and accurate arm.

Keeley Rasmussen – Sandy High School – Track

Discuss, Javelin, Shot Put; Keeley relentlessly pursues excellence in her sport.  She is an amazing teammate, and definitely the type of student athlete we want to emulate in our program.  

Boys:

Nick Lasko, Senior – Clackamas High School – Golf

Nick is undefeated in every Mt. Hood Conference match we have played. He has a scoring average of 71.75 so far this season.

Ty Patterson, Sophomore – Newberg High School – Swimming

The Tiger Boys Relay Team put on an impressive display at the OSAA State Championship Swim Meet, leading the way to a 3rd Place Team finish.

In the 200M Freestyle Relay, the four won a state championship while setting a new Newberg High School record and a new 6A OSAA State Meet record.

The relay team also finished 2nd in the 400M Freestyle Relay, setting a new Newberg High School record in that event.

Eddie Kahl, Senior – Clackamas High School – Tennis

Currently 6-0 with doubles partner Samuel Lee. Both Eddie and Samuel are 4 year varsity tennis players.

Trey Fincher, Senior – Newberg High School – Swimming

The Tiger Boys Relay Team put on an impressive display at the OSAA State Championship Swim Meet, leading the way to a 3rd Place Team finish.

In the 200M Freestyle Relay, the four won a state championship while setting a new Newberg High School record and a new 6A OSAA State Meet record.

The relay team also finished 2nd in the 400M Freestyle Relay, setting a new Newberg High School record in that event.

Samuel Lee, Senior – Clackamas High School – Tennis

Currently 6-0 with doubles partner Samuel Lee. Both Eddie and Samuel are 4 year varsity tennis players.

Elijah Clements, Senior – Newberg High School – Swimming

Nick Vaughn, Senior – Clackamas High School – Baseball

Batting .500 as he is 4-8, 2 doubles, 5 RBI’s, 4 runs scored. Also pitched 6 innings, striking out 6 and gave up no runs

Zach Jordan, Senior – Newberg High School – Swimming
