The Seton Catholic Varsity Girls continued to show they’re on their way back as they pulled out their first league win in two seasons with a 57-52 victory over Columbia High School.

Seton started out the game with a 20 point first quarter! Emma Watkins scored 13 of her 22 points in the first period with all of her points coming off of assists from Jasmine Morgan on the break as Seton came out running from the start. The Cougs went onto a 20-13 first quarter and never trailed during the game.

Columbia High School closed the lead to 4 at half time but the game never got closer. Seton held the Bruins to just 10 points in the third while extending their lead by three. Seton managed to lead by as many as 10 in the fourth but the Bruins would not go away and the lead was cut down to five several times. Seton would not relinquish the lead and held off any serious run by the Bruins.

Emma Watkins scored a career high 22 points to lead the Cougars including 13 in the first period. Jasmine Morgan put up a double double with 10 assists and 17 points.

Seton will have Thursday off then will head to King’s Way Christian for another Tri Co League match up. JV 5:30pm/ Varsity 7pm.
